Laminated Glass

Overview

When glass is required to meet British Safety Standards, the process of laminating enables the glass to hold together safely when broken.

At T4 Design, we use an EVA interlayer between two or more layers of glass. The glass is then put under a vacuum and heated to adhere the panels together.

Laminated Glass is usually specified for structural applications like partitions, flooring and balustrade. However the ability to include fabrics, printed films and metal mesh make it perfect for decorative uses like feature screens, furniture and signage.

As inclusions are encapsulated, it is as easy to clean as a standard glass surface.

Very strong

Laminated Glass can vary in thickness and layers to meet high safety standards for structural glazing.

Transmits light

Depending on the glass thickness and material being laminated, light can still transmit through the layers.

Precise manufacturing

With the use of CNC cutting our glass is completely precise.

Bespoke

With the use of different material inclusions the options are endless.

Versatile

Laminated glass can be combined with other processes.

Our Approach

Design Specification Manufacture Logistics

We start by understanding your brief, making sure we’ve interpreted what you want to achieve. Through research and development, we then produce a sample so you can visualise the finished piece.

Once we’ve agreed on the design, our experienced team take a closer look at your designs, checking the specification is deliverable based on the tolerances of the glass you choose.

Drawing from over 20 years of experience in a range of techniques, we bring your designs to life with technical expertise and industry-leading machinery.

Once your glass has been made to your specification, we take care of the logistics, making sure you receive your order on time, in the UK and abroad.
