fixing In-fill panels with Bolts?
If you are using bolt fixings through holes
in the glass for balustrade In-fill panels then toughened laminate
glass
should be used.

toughening process?
Any notches, drilling, edge work and their
positioning, should be agreed with the T4 Design prior to toughening

Can you cut dogleg shapes in toughened
glass? We can process doglegs, If
possible we would prefer the returning part of the glass to have
a 50mm radius, especially if it is to be polished – please
submit a drawing to T4 for approval.

Do balustrades need to be Sandblasted?
There will be certain situations, where
the presence of glass may not be evident, in these cases suitable
manifestation should be used, These can be in the form of simple
tram lines, logos or intricate designs all manifestation should
be provided in accordance with BS 6262-4

What type of fixing should I use?
Retaining bolts for glass infill panels should
have a rubber or nylon type sleeve with a 50mm dia washer and this
to should have a rubber washer between the glass and the metal.

What is the best way of measuring my
glass infill panel size?
We would recommend that a template be made
using an appropriate material i.e. Hardboard / MDF. Remember when
producing the template that the glass will be produced to its exact
size and shape by a scanning method.

How do I handle my toughened glass panel?
Toughened glass has all of its Sharpe edges
removed though we recommend that when carrying the glass gloves
are used. When the glass is being stacked it is best to lean it
against a suitable wall ensuring that the edges are protected from
hard materials such concrete or metal. The incline of the glass
needs only to be slight as not to cause it to slide out at the bottom.
If more glass is being stacked in front of the first then you must
ensure a suitable material separates each piece. It is important
to recognize that the edges and corners of the glass are the most
vulnerable.
